January Game Done - CyberHeist
On the first of January this year, I decided that I wanted to push myself to follow my passions in a different way than I usually do. While I often work on larger, long-term projects to their conclusion, I considered the possibility of instead, working on many smaller projects.
So the challenge I set for myself was to make 12 games in 12 months, and today I would like to exhibit my first project: CyberHeist (which you can play now at https://lnkd.in/d9kSEqA in Chrome or Firefox browsers).
This game was a product of my interests in programming, 80s and 90s hacker-core sci-fi, and retro nostalgia. I've played a lot of hacking games, but none have ever truly scratched my itch for being the silent observer, taking their unique advantage of grid-bound world of mega-corporations. While there isn't much content at all, the system was built as a sandbox, serving as my proof of concept to provide people with a brief glimpse into my ideas.
If you get the opportunity to play, please let me know what you think, and I'll be reporting back next month for an update on game number two.
